My Process

After a piece is thrown on the wheel or rolled out, it is allowed to dry slowly then painted with an underglaze and carved to reveal the white clay beneath.

When the carving is finished the drying continues for several more days, after which it is bisque fired. I then wash and sand the pieces and apply a final clear glaze. All pieces are fired to Cone 6.
